| Christina Georgina Rossetti, was the famous sister of two equally famous brothers: Dante Gabriel - the artist, and William Michael - editor and art critic. Christina was born in 1830, and died in 1894. She wrote many fine poems, and her technical virtuosity was much respected. Often her verse bordered on the melancholy, verging at times on the morbid. This well known poem is often used to this day on big tragic occasions. It is also used at small family occasions, so is universally appealing. Remember! Remember

if you should forget me for a while A sad poem isn't it? But perhaps some sage advice from a thoughtful Victorian woman!
