Pavane

The Pavan (or Pavane) was a 16th and 17th Century stately dance of Italian origin, probably from Padua. It was often paired with another dance called the galliard. This combination is thought to be the origins of the musical Suite.

Gabriel Fauré's Pavane is his opus 50, composed for Orchestra with an optional mixed chorus. It is also loved by pianists and organists. Scored in the lovely key of G Minor, don't you think it has a distinctly Mediterranean feel to it?

Do you feel the urge to sway to our arrangement of Gabriel's rhythmic tune?

Don't pay any attention to us, feel free!

Or simply bask in the warm Mediterranean breezes of his Spanish border home in Southern France
