O Setting Sun!
Heights of Glantaun!
I Love You!

This beautiful trio for Molly, Terence and Murphy, must have been one of the highlights of The Emerald Isle opera. It is two minutes of collaborative magic - a winner from the pens of Basil, Arthur and Edward.

The Heights of Glantaun
(1½ bars intro)

Molly:  On the heights of Glantaun
There's no voice that is human,
But sometimes, at nightfall,
The lone passer-by
Will hear on the West wind
The song of a woman,
That calls him to follow
The sound of her sigh.

Murphy:  It is Cleena who calls him,
'Tis Cleena the Fairy,
(Or so tells the old country legend, not I.)
And if he be foolish,
Or bold, or unwary,
He'll follow the sound of that musical sigh!

Molly:  And there in her Cavern of Dreams
He'll lie dreaming,
A laugh on his lips while his life rushes by, -

Murphy:  For the world where she dwells
Is the fair World of Seeming,
The world that is found
At the end of a sigh!

Terence  Yes the world where she dwells
Is the fair World of Seeming,
The world that is found
At the end of a sigh!
Of a sigh - - - -!

Trio  The world where she dwells
Is a fair world of seeming,
The world that is found
At the end of a sigh!
The world . . that is found . .
At the end . . of a sigh . . . .!
A sigh - - - -!
The world that is found
At the end of a . . . sigh!

Doesn't that leave you with a feeling of wanting to join them in this magic world (at the end of a sigh!). . .?

Here romance seeks to find a way in I Love You! . . .
