| Once again let's remind ourselves that these three pieces were used in the opera Carmen as entr'actes (between acts). The audiences must have loved them, they definitely give musical food for thought. However, the MusicSmiles team have arranged them singly, or to play as a suite, for 'happy listening'. We've also set a challenge to our imaginations: What images do they conjure up in your mind? This third Entr'acte, for instance, might conjure up the picture of a hot summer day at a fair on the border between France and Spain? OR: From the southern Spanish shore, gazing across the Mediterranean towards the shimmering North African haze of Morocco, with its mountains, and deserts? A sudden sandstorm? OR: are we back to our oasis again? - Enter the Prince with his warriors, followed by the Princess with her entourage. An inevitable meeting with the traditional romantic exchanges, and the usual inevitable conclusion . . . A Mirage? Well, it depends on your imagination. Let nothing be discounted! OR, just simply sit back and enjoy Georges' swirling two minute extravaganza of gorgeous music . . . Next, the unique - Street-Boys' March?
