| The Blue Danube - or to give it Johann Strauss II's full title: By the Beautiful Blue Danube (An der schönen blauen Donau) - is a concert waltz. It had its first performance in Vienna in 1867, and originally it had a chorus part included. Here is our arrangement of the world famous waltz. Imagine the swirling of the ladies dresses and the splashes of colour in the men's uniforms. This, after all, was the time of the great Austrian Empire, what was known as the Golden Age of Viennese music. Don't you feel the urge to have a twirl? . . .
